San Diego Comic-Con 2011: Saturday Programs

Highlights of film and television events at Comic-con 2011.

Once a year the city of San Diego, California, welcomes guests, exhibitors and artists to the four day event known as Comic-Con. In previous articles of this series I have highlighted the more popular programs for Wednesday / Preview Night and Thursday Programs, as well as, Friday Programs.

In this installment, I will focus on some of the highlights for Saturday, which includes one of the most anticipated events: the masquerade.

Saturday Programs (July 23rd)

  • Ballroom 20 (10:00 AM to 10:45 AM) Chuck Screening and Questions & Answers. Panel consists of executive producer and co-creator Chris Fedak, along with series stars Zachary Levi (Charles “Chuck” Irving Bartowski), Yvonne Strahovski (Sarah Lisa Walker), Joshua Gomez (Morgan Grimes), Ryan McPartlin (Dr. Devon “Captain Awesome” Woodcomb), Mark Christopher Lawrence (Michael “Big Mike” Tucker), Vik Sahay (Lester Patel), Scott Krinsky (Jeffrey “Jeff” Barnes) with Sarah Lancaster (Dr. Eleanor "Ellie" Bartowski-Woodcomb), and Adam Baldwin (John Casey), offer a Q&A with fans and an unforgettable video presentation.
  • Ballroom 20 (12:15 PM to 1:00 PM) Futurama. On stage will be creator/executive producer Matt Groening, executive producer David X. Cohen, and stars Billy West (Fry, Professor Farnsworth, Dr. Zoidberg), Katey Sagal (Leela), John DiMaggio (Bender), and Maurice LaMarche (Kif Kroker, Calculon, Morbo). Get a sneak peek previews of this summer’s new season.
  • Ballroom 20 (1:00 PM to 1:45 PM) The Simpsons. Now entering its 23rd season on FOX and airing its landmark 500th episode on February 19, 2012. Get insights from creator Matt Groening, show runner Al Jean, co-executive producer Rob Lazebnik, co-executive producer Matt Warburton, supervising producer Mike Anderson, and producer/panel moderator Tom Gammill.
  • Indigo Ballroom, Hilton San Diego Bayfront (1:00 PM to 2:00 PM) Community. The cast and creative team from Sony TV's critically acclaimed NBC series -- Joel McHale (Jeff), Chevy Chase (Pierce),Donald Glover (Troy), Yvette Nicole Brown (Shirley), Danny Pudi (Abed), Gillian Jacobs (Britta), Jim Rash (Dean Pelton), and Ken Jeong (Chang), and executive producers Dan Harmon, Joe Russo, Anthony Russo, Neil Goldman, Garrett Donovan and Russ Krasnoff.
  • Ballroom 20 (2:00 PM to 2:35 PM) Family Guy. A panel with stars Alex Borstein, Seth Green, Adam West (Batman), and executive producers Mark Hentemann, Steve Callaghan, and Kara Vallow present a sneak peek at the new episode Stewie Goes for a Drive, featuring voice guest star Ryan Reynolds, followed by a Q&A session.
  • Ballroom 20 (2:35 PM to 3:15 PM) American Dad. Catch a preview of the Season 7 premiere of American Dad, with cast members Wendy Schaal, Scott Grimes, Rachael MacFarlane, and Dee Bradley Baker and executive producers Mike Barker, Matt Weitzman, and Kara Vallow.
  • Ballroom 20 (3:30 PM to 4:15 PM) The Vampire Diaries. A special screening followed by a questions and answers session with the cast and creative team. Series stars Nina Dobrev (Elena Gilbert), Paul Wesley (Stefan Salvatore), Ian Somerhalder (Damon Salvatore), Candice Accola (Caroline Forbes), and Joseph Morgan (Klaus) join executive producers/writers Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec.
  • Ballroom 20 (8:30 PM to 11:30 PM) HBO's True Blood Presents the Comic-Con International Masquerade. Fabulous original and re-created costumes crafted by talented attendees appear on stage before an audience of thousands, with impressive awards and cash prizes bestowed to those judged most outstanding.
